The Ins And Outs of How We Do Business
-
What is NRSAVR-100?The Negative-pressure Respiratory System with Advanced Ventilation Return (NRSAVR), or "Nurse Saver", is a self-contained negative pressure environment that designed to provide Healthcare Workers the highest level of protection from respiratory viruses and prevent them from becoming vectors of contamination. Oceanetics manufactures under license from Hygia Health, LLC.
-
Is this the intubation hood I see on the internet? No, the NRSVR-100 is designed to provide superior protection through negative pressure. It protects healthcare workers throughout the ER, hospital and ICU, not just the intubator.
-
Is this device recommended by physicians?Yes, it was developed by an ER physician currently treating COVID-19 patients and team of engineers. Both ER and ICU physicians recommend the product.
-
What is negative pressure and why is it helpful in this application?Negative pressure is created when pressure inside the device is lower than the pressure outside of the device. Applying negative pressure inside the NRSVR-100 is an isolation technique that contains contaminated aerosols, thereby protecting healthcare workers from exposure and prevents them from becoming vectors of contamination.
-
What is the NRSAVR-100 used for?The NRSAVR-100 is used by ER and ICU physicans and nurses to provide protection from transmission of respiratory viruses during the most critical moments of intubation care, respiratory/ET-tube care, and delivery of aerosolized medications.
-
Why is this device unique? The patent pending design establishes the only negative pressure cephalic environment on the market.
-
What are the benefits of NRSAVR-100?1. Protects Health Care Workers from the contaminated patient’s exhaled aerosols and fluids thereby reducing the risk of transmition. 2. Reduces the need to change PPE for ICU personnel at every room entry and exit. This will help reduce the burden on the worldwide shortage of PPE. 3. Reduces risk of early intubation and decreases demand on ventilators by allowing use of existing HF-NC or BiPAP/CPAP systems. This will help reduce the burden on the worldwide shortage of ventilators. 4. Allows for patients to be placed in negative-pressure environments without the costly conversions of hospitals and allows rural or field facilities to provide a similar level of care. 5. Provides the ability to provide negative-pressure airborne infection isolation capabilities for over-flow, and field tent hospital facilities.
-
What are the possible uses?Intubation, patient transport, alternative treatment modalities including BIPAP and HFNC, negative pressure isolation for airborne respiratory diseases, field hospital use. The NRSVR-100 also reduces consumption of PPE and demand on ventilators.
-
Is the NRSAVR-100 right for my needs? The NRSAVR-100 can be used by all health care practitioners, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, technologists, or any other practitioners or health professionals that have a role or need in using such a device.
-
Is the product American made?Yes, the NRSVR-100 is 100% American made; it is designed and manufactured by a U.S. Military veteran-owned business.
-
Is Oceanetics seeking FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and 510k approval for NRSVR-100?Yes, we have secured Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA, which "concluded that the NRSAVR-100 may be effective in preventing HCP exposure to pathogenic biological airborne particulates by providing an extra layer of barrier protection in addition to PPE". Per the Chief Scientist of the FDA: "The NRSAVR-100 has neither been cleared or approved for use by HCP as an extra layer of barrier protection in addition to PPE to prevent HCP exposure to pathogenic biological airborne particulates by providing isolation of hospitalized patients with suspected or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, at the time of definitive airway management, or when performing medical procedures or during transport of such patients during the COVID-19 pandemic; The NRSAVR-100 has been authorized for emergency use by FDA under an EUA; and, The NRSAVR-100 has been authorized only for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of medical devices under section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner."
